Present!

A couple of months ago, Holland and I were visiting a bookshop in Park City when I showed him this cookbook that I thought was awesome. Unbeknownst to me, Holland took careful note and remembered it much later when he was buying a book for himself on the internets. He got this for me at the same time as a very sweet and thoughtful present-for-no-good-reason. It is fabulous and shows me how to make all sorts of neat things that I hope I'll get to try one day (although most of them would be much easier if I lived on a farm!). It teaches you how to make various jams and preserves. There is also an entire section devoted to how to make things from milk (butter, yogurt, cheese) all by yourself if you can get your hands on some that is nonhomogenized. Raspberry jam and pickled peaches, here we come!

P.S. See how great Mom's flowers still look? =)
