Freak snowstorm

Okay, these pictures are over a week old but I thought they were still worth posting. Last Wednesday, I went running and it was 40 degrees and there was a pretty sunset (although it was very windy). I went inside, took a shower, and came out thirty minutes later to find my yard covered in snow. Snow was blowing sideways and there was lightening and thunder. Here is my car after I was in a restaurant for two hours:

United Nations Plaza

The Asian Art museum was really neat - I highly recommend it!

Berkeley

We took the BART (San Francisco's train system) to Berkeley and walked around the campus and the town. It was really neat.


We later went back to the Mission district, where we had dinner at a Mexican place with awesome margaritas (the Velvet Cantina) then had beer at a place called the Monk's Kettle.

Grace Cathedral

A beautiful old Episcopal cathedral on Nob Hill, near our hotel. We had planned to go to the 3PM service but when we got there no one was there except the celebrants (and that was just too awkward).

The patient

Holland has pretty much not had to go in to work all week (long story- I'm not bitter about it or anything!). The other day I came home and found this:


Holland had repotted the poor sickly plant from a couple of weeks ago and stuck it under a heat lamp. He told me it was in the "plant ICU."
