After three days in Rome, we then took the train to the lovely city of Lucca, in Tuscany. It is a largely medieval city that is still surrounded by a large wall and a moat! We stayed in a hostel that was in a medieval monastery! I gave Holland a hard time about booking us in a hostel for our honeymoon but it was actually quite nice!
The photo of Holland is of him about to enjoy a unique Tuscan treat - Vin Santo (a dessert wine that is similar to Communion wine) and cantucci (twice baked almond cookies that are similar to biscotti). After dinner, you dip the cantucci in the Vin Santo to eat them. Strangely yummy and addicting.
