Can this houseplant be saved?

This was originally a very robust houseplant that someone gave me as a gift. Over the past nine months, however, it has gradually dwindled.

I placed it outside briefly this fall and that didn't help. Now it is too cold. I thought maybe I wasn't watering it enough but mow the soil just seems wet all the time even though I have always watered it pretty infrequently.

It still has a few living leaves and I'd like to save it if I can- suggestions anyone?

Do you talk to it and tell it how pretty it is?

Hmmm, maybe repot it with new yummy soil and cut off the dead leaves. Put it where it will get sunlight.

Mine got like that but rebounded especially outside during the summer.
